Andrzej Zbikowski
Historian, Jewish Historical Institute (ZIH) and the Bureau of Public Education of the Institute of National Remembrance (IPN)
Born October 20, 1953. In 1993 he graduated with a Ph.D in history from the University of Warsaw. His thesis was titled:"The Jews of Cracow and their Community, 1868-1918" (thesis director Prof. Jerzy Holzer). In 2006 he defended at Department of History, Warsaw University his habilitacja thesis based on the book U genezy Jedwabnego. Dr hab. Zbikowski was research fellow at the Institut Wissenschaften der Menschen w Wiedniu, Yad Vashem in Jerusalem, and in the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum in Washington. Since 1985 he works in the Jewish Historical Institute and in January 2004 he became chief specialist in the Bureau of PUblic Education of the IPN.
